Palawan Scholarship Program 2026-2027 Application Guide

The Palawan Scholarship Program is a scholarship initiative of the Palawan Group of Companies that helps qualified students continue their college education. It provides financial and academic support to deserving incoming first-year college students in Palawan.

Qualifications:

To apply for the Palawan Scholarship Program, students must meet the eligibility requirements set by the scholarship provider. Below are the qualifications that incoming college students need to have before applying.

  • Year Level
    • Must be an incoming first-year college student for Academic Year 2026–2027.
  • Age Requirement
    • Must be 17 to 21 years old.
  • Academic Requirement
    • Must have a Grade 12 General Weighted Average (GWA) of 90% or higher.
  • Residency
    • Must be a resident of Palawan.
  • School Enrollment
    • Must be enrolled at Palawan State University – Main Campus or Western Philippines University – Main Campus or Puerto Princesa Campus.
  • Family Income Priority
    • Priority is given to applicants from indigent or low-income families.
  • Character and Health
    • Must be of good moral character, be in good health, and have no criminal or derogatory record.
  • Relationship Restriction
    • Must not be a direct dependent or relative up to the third degree of associates from the Palawan Group of Companies.
  • Other Scholarship Restriction
    • Must not be a recipient of any other scholarship, financial aid, or grant, except school-based academic scholarships for honor students.

Requirements:

Applicants for the Palawan Scholarship Program must prepare the required information and upload clear scanned copies of the needed documents. Make sure all files are complete, readable, and named correctly before submitting your application.

    • Submit a recent 2×2 ID picture.

    • Submit your Senior High School report card. The front and back pages must be combined into one page only.

  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
    • Submit a certificate of good moral character from your school or authorized office.

    • Submit a barangay certificate showing that you are an indigent resident of your area.

Priority Courses:

The Palawan Scholarship Program supports students from different academic fields. However, the program gives special attention to courses that help develop future professionals and leaders in key industries.

  • Architecture
  • Agriculture

    Take one photo outside your house and one photo inside your house, then combine both into one file.

After submitting your application, wait for the scholarship program’s update. Applicants who pass the initial screening will receive an email notification from the Scholarship Program Management with instructions for the next stage of the selection process.

Note: Applications with incomplete documentary requirements will not be processed and will be automatically disqualified. To avoid problems, complete all requirements early and review your application carefully before submission.

About Palawan Scholarship Program:

The Palawan Group of Companies began in Puerto Princesa City on August 17, 1985, starting as a pawnshop business. Over the years, it expanded its services across the country and now offers Palawan Express Pera Padala, international money remittance, foreign currency exchange, e-loading, bills payment, and accident insurance. 

Aside from its business services, the company also supports education through the Palawan Scholarship Program, which helps qualified first-year college students continue their studies and reach their educational goals. Through the Palawan Scholarship Program, deserving students are given financial support and the opportunity to pursue higher education.

The Palawan Scholarship Program has already helped many students continue college and work toward a better future. So far, 898 scholars have graduated, while 491 scholars are currently continuing their studies with support from the program.

 In return, scholars are expected to finish their degree within the required period, maintain passing grades in all academic and non-academic subjects, and sign a notarized scholarship agreement. If a scholar fails to complete the program without a valid reason or without proper communication, they may be required to return the financial assistance they received.
