Qualifications:

Before applying for the GSIS GESP Scholarship, applicants should ensure they meet the program’s eligibility requirements. Only those who satisfy the qualifications and comply with the application requirements will be considered for the educational subsidy. 

  • The applicant must be a college student enrolled in a recognized higher education institution.
  • The applicant must be the child or dependent of an active GSIS member.
  • The GSIS member-parent or guardian must:
    • Be in active service;
    • Have paid premium contributions;
    • Have no overdue GSIS loans at the time of application.
  • The applicant must have passed the GSIS eligibility and screening requirements.
  • The applicant must comply with all documentary requirements within the prescribed submission period.

Requirements:

To apply for the GSIS GESP Scholarship, applicants must submit a complete set of documentary requirements for evaluation. Preparing these documents in advance can help ensure a smooth application process and avoid delays. 

  • Duly accomplished GESP Application Form.
  • Certificate of Employment or a certified true copy of the Service Record of the GSIS member, signed by the authorized agency officer.
  • Original or photocopy of the applicant’s PSA Birth Certificate.
  • Proof of enrollment, which may include:
    • School Certification showing admission or enrollment for the current academic year (for incoming college students), or
    • Certificate of Registration (COR) with the list of subjects, indicating the course, duration of the program, and year level.
  • Academic records, such as:
    • Senior High School Report Card or School Certification showing a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 80% with no failing or incomplete grades (for incoming freshmen); or
    • Latest college Grade Report and Certificate of Registration for currently enrolled college students, also showing a GWA of at least 80% with no failing or incomplete grades.

Benefits:

The GSIS GESP Scholarship provides financial assistance to qualified beneficiaries to help reduce the cost of pursuing a college education. Below are the benefits available to eligible GESP grantees. 

  • Educational subsidy of up to ₱10,000 per academic year.
  • The subsidy is released at ₱1,000 per month, not exceeding ₱10,000 in one academic year.
  • The grant is non-transferable and is intended to help cover the student’s educational expenses while enrolled in a CHED-recognized public or private college or university.

Priority Courses:

The GSIS GESP Scholarship does not specify any priority courses. 

Eligible applicants may pursue any college degree program, provided they meet the scholarship’s eligibility requirements and are enrolled in a recognized higher education institution. 

The official GESP guidelines do not restrict the scholarship to particular fields of study.

Partner School:

The GSIS GESP Scholarship does not provide an official list of partner schools. 

Instead, the scholarship is open to eligible students who are enrolled in recognized higher education institutions in the Philippines. 

This means applicants are not restricted to a specific university or college, provided they satisfy the program’s eligibility requirements and submit the required documents. 

Application Deadline:

As of this writing, the GSIS GESP Scholarship has not yet announced the application deadline for the current application cycle.

Step 1: Download the official GESP Application Form from the GSIS website once the application period opens.

Step 3: Email your accomplished application form and supporting documents to gesp@gsis.gov.ph or submit them to the nearest GSIS office, following the instructions in the official announcement.

Step 4: GSIS will review your application and verify if you meet the program’s eligibility requirements.

Step 5: Monitor the official GSIS website and other official GSIS communication channels for the announcement of qualified grantees.

Step 6: If selected, submit any additional requirements requested by GSIS to process the release of your educational subsidy.
