CHED SIScholar 2026-2027 Application Guide

  • Must have a combined annual gross income of parents or guardian not exceeding ₱400,000

CHED SIScholar Graduate Qualifications

To qualify for the program, the applicant must meet the following:

• Citizenship
  • Must be a Filipino citizen
• Educational qualification
  • Must have a related undergraduate degree
  • Must pass the admission requirements of the identified SUC for master’s or doctoral degree programs
• Industry eligibility
  • Must be duly certified by the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) as a child or dependent of a sugarcane industry worker or small sugarcane farmer
• Income requirement
  • Must have a combined annual gross income of parents, guardian, or spouse not exceeding ₱500,000

• For Senior High School students
  • Duly certified copy of Grade 11 grades and first semester Grade 12 grades
• For lifelong learners eligible for college
  • High School Report Card
• For applicants with earned units or currently enrolled in college
  • Duly certified copy of grades for the latest semester or term attended
• For ALS applicants
  • Duly certified copy of ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test Passer Certificate
• For PEPT applicants
  • Duly certified copy of PEPT Certificate of Advancing to the Next Level

Other Documentary Requirements

Applicants must also submit the following:

• School and character documents
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character from the last school attended
  • Notice of Admission from the State University or College (SUC)
• Sugar industry eligibility

  • Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
  • Certificate of No Income from the BIR
  • Certificate of Indigency from the barangay
  • Certificate or Case Study from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
• For children of OFWs and seafarers
  • Latest copy of contract or proof of income, if applicable

CHED SIScholar Graduate Requirements

Applicants for the CHED SIScholar graduate program must submit the following requirements:

  • Diploma and Transcript of Records (TOR) of baccalaureate or master’s degree
  • Approved thesis/dissertation proposal endorsed by the Technical Working Group (TWG), if applicable

Note: Not all CHED SIScholar forms are required from every applicant. Some annexes are only used for scholarship processing, monitoring, billing, return service, and other post-award requirements.

Benefits:

The CHED SIScholar provides financial assistance to qualified scholars to help cover tuition, school fees, and other education-related expenses. Depending on the level of study, CHED SIScholar beneficiaries may receive regular allowances, book support, and additional funding for thesis, dissertation, OJT, and local conferences.

CHED SIScholar Return Service

• CHED SIScholar scholars may be required to render one (1) year of return service for every year of scholarship received.
• The required return service must be completed within two (2) years after graduation.
• The currently posted return service text mentions the coconut industry, which appears inconsistent with the CHED SIScholar for sugarcane beneficiaries.
• Because of this, it is safer to keep the CHED SIScholar return service section general unless CHED releases a corrected or updated guideline.

Priority Courses:

The CHED SIScholar covers selected priority degree programs for both undergraduate and graduate studies. Applicants should make sure that their chosen course is included in the official list of eligible CHED SIScholar priority programs.

Partner School:

The CHED SIScholar is implemented through eligible State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) nationwide that offer the approved priority degree programs.

• The CHED SIScholar does not have a fixed list of partner schools.
• It is available in CHED-recognized SUCs offering covered undergraduate or graduate programs.
• Applicants must be admitted to or planning to enroll in an eligible SUC with a qualified degree program.
• Scholarship availability may depend on the school’s participation and the program offered for the academic year.

Note: Applicants are encouraged to check with their preferred SUC, scholarship office, registrar, or admissions office for the availability of the CHED SIScholar, covered programs, and school-specific application instructions.
