Applicants must follow these file guidelines:

PDF Document Guidelines

  1. Single file per category
If a document has multiple pages, merge them into one single PDF file.
  2. Text readability
Make sure your scan is high-resolution and easy to read. If you are using a scanning app, the “Document” or “B&W” setting usually works best to keep the background clean and the text sharp.
  3. No password protection
Remove any encryption or password requirements before uploading, as the system may not be able to open protected files.

Image or JPEG Guidelines

  1. Clarity and lighting
Make sure the image is taken in bright and even lighting. Avoid using flash directly on glossy paper to prevent glare that may hide important information.
  2. Flat and framed
Place the document on a flat, dark surface. Capture the entire document from directly above and make sure all four corners are visible.
  3. Focus
If using a mobile phone, tap the screen to focus before taking the photo. If the text looks blurry, retake the photo.

General File Requirements

  1. File size
Each file should not exceed 5MB. If your file is too large, use an online compressor or lower your scanner’s DPI. A 300 DPI setting is recommended.
  2. File naming
Save your files with clear names, such as:
    • LastName_FirstName_BirthCertificate
    • LastName_FirstName_SF9
    • LastName_FirstName_ProofOfIncome
  3. Orientation
Make sure all uploaded documents are rotated correctly and appear upright.

After reading the checklist, click Next.
