Bislig City Scholarship Program 2026 Application Guide

The Bislig City Scholarship Program is a scholarship initiative of the City Government of Bislig that provides financial assistance to qualified Bisliganon students pursuing senior high school, college, and postgraduate education.

Qualifications:

Applicants must satisfy the following qualifications:

• Must be a first-time, entry-level student:
  • Senior High School: Incoming Grade 11 student.
  • College: Incoming first-year college student (continuing or currently enrolled college students are not eligible).
  • Postgraduate: Incoming master’s or doctoral student who meets the additional employment requirement.
• Must be a resident of Bislig City for at least three (3) years.
• Must be a registered voter of Bislig City, or be the child of a registered voter who has been a resident of the city for at least three (3) years.
• Must belong to at least one of the following eligible sectors:
  • Indigent families.
  • Displaced or relocated families.
  • Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
  • Indigenous Peoples (IPs).
  • Household helpers (Kasambahays).
  • Alternative Learning System (ALS) graduates.
  • Solo parents.
  • Children of parents convicted with finality in criminal cases.
  • Children or family members of tricycle drivers, farmers, or fishermen.
  • Other marginalized sectors as identified by the City Scholarship Advisory Council (CSAC).
• For postgraduate applicants (Master’s or Doctoral degrees): Must be a permanent employee in the public or private sector within Bislig City for at least one (1) year before applying.

• Barangay Certificate of Residency and Indigency (showing at least three (3) years of residency in Bislig City).
• Certificate of Indigency from the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Office.
• Parent’s COMELEC Certification showing registered voter status for at least three (3) years.
• Applicant’s COMELEC Certification (if applicable).
• Photocopy of the latest School Card or Report Card.
• Certificate of Good Moral Character or School Certification.
• Photocopy of the applicant’s Birth Certificate.

For Postgraduate Programs (Master’s, Doctoral, Law, and Medicine)

• Letter of Intent.
• Duly accomplished scholarship application form with a recent 2×2 ID photo.

For Senior High School scholars, the program supports enrollment in partner institutions offering the identified SHS tracks, such as Agriculture and Tourism programs.

For college and postgraduate scholars, the BCSP provides opportunities through partner institutions offering various degree programs and professional studies.

• St. Vincent de Paul Diocesan College (SVPDC)

Application Deadline:

Applicants who wish to apply for the Bislig City Scholarship Program must submit their application within the official application period. Interested students are encouraged to prepare the required documents and complete their application before the deadline to ensure proper evaluation.

How to Apply:

To apply for the Bislig City Scholarship Program, interested applicants must complete the official application form and submit it together with the required supporting documents to the Scholarship Division at the City Administrator’s Office, 3rd Floor, City Hall Building, Poblacion, Bislig City. Applicants must follow the application process and submit complete requirements within the designated application period for proper evaluation.

Step 1: Secure and Accomplish the Application Form
Obtain the scholarship application form from the City Administrator’s Office or download it through the official BCSP platform.
Fill out the application form completely and provide accurate information.

Step 2: Prepare the Required Documents

Step 3: Attach a Recent ID Picture

Qualified applicants will be issued an Examination Permit containing the schedule and details of the Scholarship Qualifying Examination.

Examination results will be posted in designated areas and announced through the official Facebook pages of the City Government of Bislig and the Bislig City Scholarship Program (BCSP) after confirmation and approval by the City Scholarship Advisory Council (CSAC).

About Bislig City Scholarship Program:

The Bislig City Scholarship Program was established in 2011 through City Ordinance No. 2011-02 to provide educational assistance to qualified students from Bislig City. To further strengthen and improve the program, it was officially codified on July 4, 2023, under City Ordinance No. 2023-09, also known as The Scholarship Code of Bislig City. This ordinance serves as the legal framework that governs the scholarship program and its implementation.

The main goal of the BCSP is to help deserving Bisliganon students pursue and complete their formal education by providing financial assistance. Through this program, the City Government of Bislig aims to reduce the financial burden on students and their families while encouraging academic excellence. It also supports the national government’s “Education for All” initiative and the Department of Education’s (DepEd) efforts to improve access to quality education and achieve zero illiteracy.

The BCSP also promotes equal opportunities in education by integrating Gender and Development (GAD) principles into its policies and programs. It gives importance to students from marginalized and vulnerable sectors, helping ensure that they have a fair chance to continue their studies.
