The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is inviting interested students to apply for the Universiti Utara Malaysia Student Exchange Program for the Fall Semester 2026.

About the UUM Exchange Program:
The UUM Student Exchange Program welcomes international students from both partner universities and non-partner universities. By the end of the program, students will gain wonderful memories and experiences through active participation in UUM’s mobility and enrichment programs.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for the exchange program, you must meet these general requirements:
- You must be an active student nominated by your home university.
- You must have completed at least two academic semesters at your home university.
- Your English proficiency must be approved and recommended by your home university.
- You must agree to follow all the rules and regulations at Universiti Utara Malaysia.
- You must agree to be responsible for all fees and costs you need to pay to Universiti Utara Malaysia.
Study Destination: Malaysia
Students will study in Malaysia and can choose between two main campus locations:
- UUM Sintok Campus, Kedah.
- UUM Kuala Lumpur Campus.

Key Application Dates:
Make sure to remember these important dates for the Fall 2026 intake:
- Application Period: March 1, 2026 – May 15, 2026
- Nomination Deadline: May 15, 2026
- Program Duration (Fall Semester): September 2026 until February 2027
Requirements:
All supporting documents must be submitted together with your application form. You will need to prepare the following:
- An up-to-date certified academic transcript in English.
- A Nomination Letter from your Home University to prove you are an active, full-time student.
- A clear copy of your current passport data pages or national identity card.
- A certified copy of an English proficiency test result like MUET, IELTS, or TOEFL if English is not your first language.
- A copy of a current passport-size photo that follows the EMGS passport photo guidelines.
- Disability support details, if applicable.
Accommodation Options:
If you are applying to the UUM Sintok Campus, you have a few preferred accommodation choices:
- University Inn (In-Campus): MYR1,200 per month per unit.
- INASIS Residential Hall (In-Campus): MYR720 per semester per student.
- EDC-UUM Hotel (Off-Campus): MYR2,500 per month per unit.
Please note that if you choose the UUM Kuala Lumpur Campus, you will need to find your own accommodation.
Step-by-step: How to Apply
Follow these specific steps to ensure your application is processed smoothly.
Step 1: Fill out the Application Form
- Get the official inbound application form and fill in your personal details, academic details, and proposed study plan.
Step 2: Prepare Supporting Documents
- Gather your certified transcripts, passport copies, photos, and test scores. Only completed application forms will be accepted and assessed. Incomplete application forms will be returned to the sender.
Step 3: Submit to Your Home University
- You must submit your completed application form and all supporting documents to the International Office of your home university. Your application will not be assessed without the endorsement of your university’s International Officer or Student Exchange Coordinator. Direct submissions from students will not be accepted.
Step 4: University Nomination
- Your home university will nominate you by submitting your details through the official Google Form (https://bit.ly/UUMgform) on or before May 15, 2026. They must also email your application directly to the Mobility Unit at global.mobility@uum.edu.my and norshahida@uum.edu.my.
