Qualifications:

To be eligible for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Be a citizen of a country on the List of Countries Eligible for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship and meet any specific criteria set by their country or government.
  2. Not be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) or an overseas compatriot student.
  3. Meet the admission requirements of the partner university in Taiwan.
  4. Fulfill the Resident Visa (Code: FS) and Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) requirements set by the Taiwanese government.
  5. Not hold any other ROC (Taiwan) government-sponsored scholarship in the same academic year.
  6. Have graduated before July 31, 2023, if previously awarded a TaiwanICDF, MOFA’s Taiwan Scholarship, or MOE scholarship.
  7. Provide their highest-level diploma by July 31, 2024, or apply for the following year’s scholarship if unable to meet this deadline.
  8. Have no history of having a scholarship revoked by any ROC (Taiwan) government agency or being expelled from any Taiwanese university.

Benefits:

The TaiwanICDF Scholarship covers the following expenses for each student:

  • Airfare: Round-trip economy class flights to and from Taiwan will be arranged by TaiwanICDF. Check with airlines for luggage policies and other details before departure.
  • Housing: Students are required to live in designated student dormitories.
  • Tuition Fee: Full coverage of tuition fees as required by the student’s university.
  • Credit Fees: Coverage of fees for the credits registered as required by the student’s university.
  • Insurance: Coverage includes mandatory student safety insurance and additional accidental and medical insurance for the duration of the program.
  • Book Costs: Costs for textbooks, subject to approval by the student’s institute director, are covered.
  • Monthly Allowance:
    • Master’s Program: NT$18,000 per month for food and living expenses, deposited into the student’s local bank account.
    • Ph.D. Program: NT$20,000 per month for food and living expenses, deposited into the student’s local bank account.

Requirements:

To apply for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship, you need to submit the following documents:

  • Proof of Nationality: A photocopy of the applicant’s passport or another document showing proof of nationality.
  • Academic Documents: A photocopy of the highest-level diploma and academic transcripts.
  • English Proficiency: A photocopy of the English proficiency certificate. This can be a TOEFL test score or similar recognized exam, or documentation showing graduation from a program where all courses were taught in English. Note: Applicants whose official national language is English are exempt.
  • Referee Information: Details of referees who can provide recommendations.

Application Deadline:

For the 2024 TaiwanICDF Scholarship program, applications are accepted from December 1, 2023, to March 15, 2024.

Application Process:

Follow these steps to apply for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship:

    TaiwanICDF will make the final selection and inform the list of scholarship recipients by June 10, 2024.
  6. Acceptance Letters
