PSFI NXPLORERS Program 2026 Application Guide

The PSFI NXPLORERS Program is a STEM education initiative of Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) in partnership with Shell Pilipinas. Designed for students aged 14 to 19, it develops systems thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills through workshops on real-world sustainability challenges.

Qualifications:

Priority Courses:

The PSFI NXPLORERS Program is not a college scholarship and does not offer official priority courses. Instead, it is a STEM education initiative designed to develop students’ interest and skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through interactive learning experiences, workshops, and innovation activities.

The program encourages students to explore STEM concepts, apply creative and critical thinking skills, and develop solutions to real-world challenges related to sustainability and community needs.

STEM Focus Areas

The program promotes learning and exploration in the following areas:

  • Science – Encourages students to understand natural processes, analyze problems, and apply scientific knowledge to real-world situations.
  • Technology – Develops students’ ability to use digital tools, innovation, and technology-based solutions to address challenges.

How to Apply:

Step 1. Wait for Your School to Be Selected

  • The PSFI NXPLORERS Program is offered to selected or invited secondary schools. Check with your school to find out if it is participating in the program.

Step 2. Register Through Your School

  • If your school is selected, complete the registration process through your school’s designated coordinator or program adviser.

Step 3. Attend the NXPLORERS Workshop

  • Participate in the interactive PSFI NXPLORERS Program workshop, where you’ll learn systems thinking, problem-solving, and sustainability concepts through hands-on activities.

Step 4. Join the Activities and Team Challenges

  • Work with your teammates to complete collaborative exercises, innovation activities, and other workshop challenges.

Step 5. Qualify for the Bright Ideas Challenge

  • Outstanding teams may have the opportunity to represent their school in the Bright Ideas Challenge, where they can present innovative solutions to real-world sustainability issues.

About PSFI NXPLORERS Program:

The PSFI NXPLORERS Program is Shell’s global STEM education initiative implemented in the Philippines by Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI). 

It equips young people with essential 21st-century skills, including systems thinking, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving, enabling them to develop solutions for real-world challenges related to food, water, and energy sustainability.

Since its launch in the Philippines in 2019, the PSFI NXPLORERS Program has expanded to schools nationwide through partnerships with secondary educational institutions. 

Through interactive workshops, hands-on learning experiences, and innovation challenges, the program has empowered students and teachers to strengthen STEM competencies and create practical, community-based solutions for a more sustainable future.

The primary implementation cycle of the program from 2019 to 2025 concluded in mid-2025. Interested students and schools may check with Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) or Shell Pilipinas for future program announcements, possible DepEd integrations, and upcoming STEM education opportunities.
