PALECO College Scholarship Program 2026 Application Guide

The PALECO College Scholarship Program provides educational assistance to qualified dependents of Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO) Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) pursuing college studies in public higher education institutions in Palawan.

Qualifications:

The PALECO College Scholarship Program supports deserving students in pursuing higher education through financial assistance. To qualify, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for both the student and the sponsoring Member-Consumer-Owner (MCO) listed below.

Student Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be an incoming first-year college student
  • Be single and not more than 20 years old
  • Have a Grade 12 General Average of at least 85%
  • Be of good moral character

Member-Consumer-Owner (MCO) Requirements

The applicant must:

  • Be a qualified dependent of a PALECO Member-Consumer-Owner (MCO)
  • Have an MCO whose electric service connection has been active for at least one (1) year
  • Have an MCO with no record of power pilferage
  • Not be related to any PALECO regular employee or officer up to the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity

Guardianship Requirements

If the applicant is under the care of a guardian, only the following relatives are accepted as legal guardians:

  • Grandparent
  • Uncle or Aunt
  • Brother or Sister

Note: Applicants must meet all the student and Member-Consumer-Owner (MCO) requirements to be eligible for the PALECO College Scholarship Program.

Important Notes:

  • Scholars must maintain the required retention grade and have no failing grades every semester to continue receiving scholarship benefits.
  • The Books and Miscellaneous Allowance is reimbursable and requires the submission of official receipts as proof of eligible school-related expenses.
  • Scholarship benefits are granted only to qualified scholars who continue to comply with PALECO’s academic and program requirements throughout the scholarship period.

Partner School:

The PALECO College Scholarship Program is open to students who will enroll in a public college or university within Palawan. Applicants may choose any recognized public higher education institution in the province, provided they meet the scholarship’s eligibility requirements.

Note: Before applying, make sure your chosen school is a recognized public higher education institution in Palawan and that you are admitted or enrolled in an eligible undergraduate program.

The PALECO College Scholarship Program allocates a specific number of scholarship slots to each district within PALECO’s franchise area.
