AFPSLAI Scholarship and Apprenticeship Program 2026 Application Guide

The AFPSLAI Scholarship and Apprenticeship Program provides financial assistance to qualified dependents of eligible AFPSLAI members. It supports students pursuing business-related college degrees through tuition assistance, allowances, and apprenticeship opportunities.

Qualifications:

To qualify for the AFPSLAI Scholarship and Apprenticeship Program, both the applicant and the sponsor must meet the eligibility requirements set by AFPSLAI. Below are the qualifications for each.

Applicant Qualifications

The applicant must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Relationship to the Sponsor
    • Must be the legitimate, illegitimate, or legally adopted child of a married or unmarried sponsor
    • If the sponsor is single and has no children, the applicant may be the sponsor’s legitimate, illegitimate, or legally adopted brother or sister
  • College Year Level (Applicants must be one of the following)
    • Applicants must be one of the following:
    • Incoming First-Year College Student (recent Senior High School graduate)
    • Incoming Second-Year College Student
    • Incoming Third-Year College Student

The sponsor must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Must be either:
    • A regular AFPSLAI member; or
    • A deceased former regular AFPSLAI member
  • Has an aggregate annual family income not exceeding ₱1,000,000
  • If living, the sponsor—and the spouse, if also an AFPSLAI member—must be in good standing with AFPSLAI

Requirements:

To apply for the AFPSLAI Scholarship and Apprenticeship Program, applicants must submit a completed application form together with all required supporting documents. Review the checklist below to ensure your application is complete.

Applicant Requirements

I. Personal Documents

  • Completed AFPSLAI Scholarship Application Form
  • PSA-issued Birth Certificate
  • PSA-issued Death Certificate of the sponsor (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character from the latest school attended
  • Valid NBI Clearance or Police Clearance
    • Note: Barangay Clearance is not accepted.

II. Academic Documents

  • Latest Report Card, True Copy of Grades, or Transcript of Records (certified by the school)

III. Additional Academic Requirements

  • Incoming First-Year College Students
    • College Entrance Examination Result; or
    • Certificate of Acceptance from the college or university
  • Incoming Second- or Third-Year College Students
    • School Grading System

I. Financial Documents

  • Latest Payslip or Certificate of Pension (COP)
  • Latest Income Tax Return (ITR)
  • If the Sponsor is the Parent
    • Payslip/COP of both parents
    • ITR of both parents
  • If the Sponsor is the Sibling
    • Sponsor’s Payslip/COP and ITR
    • Parents’ Payslip/COP and ITR
  • If One or Both Parents Have No Income ( Submit either of the following)
    • Certificate of No Income issued by the Local Government Unit (LGU); or
    • Notarized Affidavit of No Income

Note: Barangay Certificates and Certificates of Indigency are not accepted as proof of no income.

Additional Requirements (If Applicable)

  • PSA-issued Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR)
  • Affidavit of No Child (if the sponsor is a sibling)
  • Marriage Certificate of the spouse (if the sponsor is a deceased former AFPSLAI member)

Important Reminders:

  • Submit complete and accurate documents.
  • Incomplete applications will not be processed.
  • Photocopied documents must be certified “True Copy of Original” by the receiving AFPSLAI branch.
  • Only one (1) scholar is allowed per sponsor or family.
  • AFPSLAI may update the documentary requirements without prior notice.
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee scholarship approval.

Benefits:

The AFPSLAI Scholarship and Apprenticeship Program provides financial assistance to help scholars cover tuition and other education-related expenses throughout their college studies.

Important Service Bond Reminder:

Scholars under the AFPSLAI Scholarship and Apprenticeship Program (SAP) are required to complete a service bond after graduation or after passing the required licensure examination.

Service Bond Requirements

  • Must render service to AFPSLAI
  • Service period ranges from 6 to 11 months
  • The exact duration is determined by the AFPSLAI Human Resource and Management Division

Priority Courses:

The AFPSLAI Scholarship and Apprenticeship Program does not publish an official list of priority courses. However, the program is intended for students pursuing business-related bachelor’s degree programs.

Eligible courses may include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System
  • Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship
  • Bachelor of Science in Financial Management
  • Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management
  • Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting
  • Other business-related bachelor’s degree programs

Note: The list above is based on the program’s stated eligibility. AFPSLAI may accept other business-related degree programs that meet its scholarship requirements.

Partner School:

The AFPSLAI Scholarship and Apprenticeship Program does not have a fixed list of partner schools. Qualified scholars may enroll in any accredited college or university in the Philippines, provided the institution is duly recognized.

Applicants may study at:

  • State Universities and Colleges (SUCs)
  • Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs)
  • Private colleges and universities
  • Other duly recognized and accredited higher education institutions in the Philippines

Note: Applicants are not limited to specific schools, as long as their chosen institution is recognized and accredited by the appropriate government authorities.
