DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships 2026 Application Guide

The DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships is a scholarship program of DOST-SEI for qualified incoming third-year college students in priority science and technology courses. It provides financial assistance to help them continue their studies.

Qualifications:

The DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships are open to qualified regular second-year college students enrolled in a DOST-SEI priority science and technology course in an identified university.

To qualify for the DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Natural-born Filipino citizen
    • The applicant must be a natural-born Filipino citizen.
  • Regular second-year college student
    • The applicant must be officially enrolled as a regular second-year college student.
  • Enrolled in a DOST-SEI priority S&T course
    • The applicant must be enrolled in a DOST-SEI priority science and technology course in an identified university during the Second Semester/Term of AY 2025–2026.
  • Good health and good moral character
    • The applicant must be physically fit, in good health, and of good moral character.
  • General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 83% or its equivalent
    • The applicant must have a GWA of at least 83% or its equivalent.
  • No conditional or failing marks
    • The applicant must have no conditional or failing mark from the First Semester/Term of first year up to the First Semester/Term of second year, including midyear terms if enrolled.
  • GWA computation excludes non-academic subjects
    • Grades in non-academic subjects are not included in the computation of the GWA.
  • Must meet at least one scholarship history requirement
    • The applicant may have applied for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship but did not qualify, or
    • The applicant may have qualified for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship but did not avail of the award.

Important Note for RA 10612 Applicants

  • Students taking education degree programs are not allowed to apply under the RA 10612 Scholarship Program.

Note: Before applying for the DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships, make sure that you meet all the citizenship, academic, and scholarship eligibility requirements of the program.

Requirements:

Applicants for the DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships must prepare the required forms and supporting documents before completing the online application. To avoid disqualification, make sure that all files are complete, clear, signed when required, and uploaded in the correct field.

  • Form C – Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • Form D – Certificate of Good Health

Academic Documents

Prepare one of the following grade documents covering the First Semester of first year up to the First Semester of second year, including midyear terms if enrolled:

  • Official Transcript of Records (TOR)
  • True Copy of Grades (TCG)
  • Certified Grade Report from the school portal

Note: The grade document must be signed by the University Registrar or Dean of College.

Personal Documents

Prepare the following personal documents:

  • Recent passport-size photo
    • Must show the applicant’s face and cover about 80% of the picture
    • Must be colored with a white background
    • Must have a handwritten name tag placed about 1 inch (2.54 cm) below the chin
    • The name tag must show the applicant’s full name
    • Must be taken within the last 3 months
    • No filters, heavy make-up, digital enhancement, or alterations
  • Birth Certificate
    • Must be a readable copy
    • May be issued by the PSA, NSO, or Municipal Registry Office
    • If issued by another country, it must be supported by a Certificate of Re-acquisition/Retention of Philippine Citizenship
  • Marriage Certificate(if married)
    • Submit only if the applicant is married
    • If the applicant is not married, do not upload the parent’s marriage certificate

Proof of Income

Submit one valid proof of income based on the source of income of the parent, spouse, or guardian.

        • Not required for RA 10612 applicants

Partner School:

The DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships eligible schools include qualified State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that meet DOST-SEI requirements.

State Universities and Colleges (SUCs)

  • If you are enrolled in a State University or College (SUC), your degree program must be included in the list of DOST-SEI priority courses under the DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships.

Private HEIs and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs)

  • If you are enrolled in a private HEI or LUC, your school must meet at least one of the following requirements:
    • Recognized by CHED as a Center of Excellence (COE) or Center of Development (COD); or
    • The priority science and technology program you are enrolled in must be accredited at FAAP Level III or higher

If Your School or Course Is Not Listed

If your school or course is not found in the DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships system, you may still proceed with your application, but you may be required to submit:

  • Information about the school
  • The school grading system
  • Proof of FAAP Level III accreditation or higher (except RA 10612 applicants)

What Happens After Applying for the DOST Junior Level Science Scholarships

  • The qualifying exam is scheduled on June 28, 2026.
  • Eligible applicants will receive their Test Permit through their registered email in June 2026.

Effectivity of Scholarship Award

  • The scholarship award will take effect in the First Semester of AY 2026–2027.
