The CHED Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) helps Filipino students by providing financial aid for higher education, making college more accessible and affordable.

Qualifications

To qualify for the CHED Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), applicants must generally meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen;
  • Must be enrolled in a first undergraduate degree program;
  • Must be enrolled in any of the following:
    • State University or College (SUC);
    • CHED-recognized Local University or College (LUC);
    • CHED-recognized Private Higher Education Institution (Private HEI);
  • Must be enrolled in a program that is included in the CHED Registry of Programs and Institutions;
  • Must comply with the admission and retention policies of the school;
  • Must not have previously earned an undergraduate degree;
  • Must not be overstaying in the program or must still be within the prescribed program duration and allowable grace period.

Priority Beneficiaries

For AY 2026–2027, priority may be given to students from households included in the most updated Listahanan.

If Listahanan is no longer used, the 4Ps list certified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) may be used for prioritization. This may include:

  • Students from 4Ps households;
  • Dependents of solo parents;
  • Members of Indigenous Peoples communities;
  • Persons with disabilities;
  • Other qualified students ranked according to household per capita income.

Note: The final selection of TES grantees is still subject to prioritization, validation, and availability of funds.

Who May Not Be Eligible for TES?

Students may not be eligible for TES if they are:

  • Foreign citizens;
  • Non-students;
  • Already taking a second undergraduate or post-secondary program;
  • Enrolled in a program not included in the CHED Registry of Programs and Institutions;
  • Already receiving TES, Tulong Dunong Program, CHED Scholarship Programs, or other national government-funded student financial assistance programs;
  • Applicants who submitted falsified documents.

Requirements

To apply for the scholarship program, make sure you have the following documents:

  1. Certificate of Registration or Certificate of Enrollment
  2. Certificate of Residency, if required, especially for private HEI applicants under the no SUC/LUC category
  3. PWD ID, if applicable

Benefits

TES Application Schedule AY 2026-2027

As of this update, the official TES application schedule for Academic Year 2026–2027 has not yet been released. Students are advised to coordinate with the TES Focal Person of their school and wait for the official announcement from CHED, UniFAST, or their higher education institution.

Application Process

To successfully apply for the CHED Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), follow these steps to ensure that your application is completed accurately and efficiently:

Step 1: Enroll in Chosen Institution:

  • You can start by enrolling in a State University or College (SUC), Local University or College (LUC), or private higher education institution (HEI) recognized by CHED.

Step 2: Coordinate with TES Focal Person:

  • After enrollment, contact the TES Focal Person at your institution to begin the application process through the TES Portal.

Step 3: Complete TES Portal Information:

  • Fill out all necessary information in the TES Portal. The TES Focal Person will submit your details for processing.

Step 4: Nationwide Assessment by UniFAST:

  • UniFAST will conduct a nationwide assessment, including verification, validation, and ranking of applicants.

Step 5: Check Results:

  • Wait for the results, which will be posted in your institution’s TES Portal.

Step 6: Submit Required Documents:

  • If you qualify, your institution will notify you to submit the required documents.

Step 7: Document Submission:

  • Submit all required documents to your institution.

Step 8: Validation and Verification:

  • The institution will forward your certified documents to the CHED Regional Office (CHEDRO) for further validation and verification.

Step 9: Approval of Masterlist:

  • The UniFAST Board will review and approve the Masterlist of Qualified TES grantees.

Step 10: Fund Distribution:

  • Your institution will receive the TES funds for distribution to the qualified beneficiaries.

Ensure you accurately complete the Tertiary Education Subsidy Application Form and provide all necessary attachments for your application. Additionally, take note that the application process may vary depending on your school and region.
